I want you to learn about what can make us all better lensmasters.

And the show does not keep secrets.

Grateful For Joan

For those who have not yet seen this, I wanted to give a tribute to Joan Adams, who so tirelessly gives of herself to Squidoo and to everyone here.

She was such a help the last round of Jolly Judicious Jetsetters Giant-hood achievement. And she is really showing great leadership this round of JJJ Giant 50/100.

Contribute to  all the comments at the end of the lens so that we can continue to make our very own Joan4 feel very very good!! She told me tonight that she enjoys looking at the comments everyday to read anything new that might be there!!

Don’t tell her I told you!!

On The Eve Of June 30th, Giant Squid Deadline!!

I was telling Joan4 earlier this eve how seeing through the process of making 100 lenses, and now, reaching the deadline of this event, has caused me to slow down my pace.

Actually, I was going at warp speed by the end of last week to such an extent that I became ill and had to go to the hospital for rehydration.

This was my body telling me to slow down!

And it’s all process, afterall. You think you know something, like how to take care of yourself, and then you have to relearn the lesson. Yet in the relearning, a miracle (in perception) occurs.

An inner experience of rebirth always seems to happen to me whenever I get sick.

Perhaps the cleansing an illness affords explains this crystal clear reawakening.

Yet I am sure that the ending of the cycle of warp speed lens making also contributes to this phenomonen.

Let’s be honest. For six straight months, all of us going for this Giant 100 level of achievement have been juggling many other committments at the same time.

Yet looking back, it feels like a dream. A waking, lucid dream. A dream within a dream.

And I’ve also discovered that real creative work does not tolerate warp speed.

It requires inner spaces to a day; a walk or two with an old dog; a looking up at a pine branch and smelling that delicious fresh treeness.

We are who we become in the slowness of a quick summer breeze.

So sometimes walking away from the computer is a necessity, too, as well as walking away from the need to change the world.

So congratulations to all in advance for your achievement of Giant 50 or 100 status!! We will not even tolerate even for one moment the idea of not “making it.”

Because simply the act of creation is a job Well Done!!

I put together 2 lensographies:

Here’s the first one!

And The Second One!

The Journey Of 100 Lenses

Tags: , ,

The journey of 100 lenses begins with the first lense and ends with the last.

I am a slow Squidoo learner. I made my first lens in 2006 and a year later added the second, which remains a winner and is all about becoming a millionaire by following the thirteen Napoleon Hill Principles.

A few lenses later, my friend Joan Adams kept telling me that I really must make lenses out of the many articles I was churning out at the time.

My goal was to complete 100 articles by the end of 2008 and hers was to create 100 lenses at the same time.

We both succeeded in reaching these goals.

The thought of creating 100 lenses finally settled into my consciousness.

Why not?

Joan would be there to make me conscious of default module titles, of long text without pictures or graphics, of creating good introductory beginnings, again with an appropriate pic or graphic, and creating unique, quality content, needing to be updated at frequent intervals.

I am still learning.

The journey of making 100 lenses begins with the first lens and simultaneously, learning how to create quality relationships on all the social networking sites.

Creating the first 50 lenses began in earnest after lens #10 or 11, I remember. The creative process seemed to expand as ideas flowed about which lens to create next and then writing those down in the tiny notebook always nestled nearby for the recording of inspired thought.

I remember feeling like an artist creating in the privacy and quiet of an artist studio, with the growing global audience of Twitter, Face Book and Squidoo looking on.

The first 50 lenses were intense, sometimes grueling, always satisfying, and always learning something new about Squidoo and the art of lense making.

The Giant 50 celebration continued as I began the journey to lens 100.

This milestone allows those who “make it” join the Giant Squid 100 Club, where you gain a higher level of credibility, google ranking, and an opportunity to join those who have gone before.

The words “Law Of Completion” flashed before the mind’s eye while working on lens 99.

The Law Of Completion, the ebb and flow of life, the cycles of living, the inner and the outer, being verses doing, poised with the question: what does all of this mean?

Lens creation is an experience of flow. No sooner do you start the process and hour and hours pass like a waking dream.

You are at one with the product and process of your creation.

But whose creation is it, really?

I believe as I complete this cycle of lens making, the coveting Giant 100, I am releasing these lenses to the world. They are no longer mine, if they ever were.

They are now yours, the world’s and the Universal Mind.

They are my gift to you.

Thank you.

I love you.

Peace Om Amen.

During our radio show the other night, (Moon, Moo & You: The Collective Wisdom, now on iTunes: http://tinyurl.com/okxj6b) we discussed Praying for something as opposed to allowing yourself to become One with your desire.

Like peace, for instance.

We always pray FOR peace instead of Pray Peace.

I did a lens about this!!

Dwight D. Eisenhower-34th President-Secret Family Recipe

Tags: , , , ,

I am not big on making recipe lenses-in fact have never made one-until last night!!

This recipe was given to my uncle Earl by Ike himself during one of their bridge games together during WW2. My uncle was a Chaplain and Ike was a 4 star general. The two of them took a shine to one another, and I was recipient of Ike stories in my early life.

I would have thought this recipe was well known in the family, but my cousin, Earl’s son, knew nothing about it.

When my mother died, I received a tin of recipes with the Eisenhower Eggnog recipe in it. I wrote a story about it and submitted it as a bonus for a Christmas EBook my friend Charly Leetham wrote last year.

I asked her if she would mind if I used the story for a lens and she said, “Go For It!!”

So here it is: The Kick Butt Eisenhower Family Eggnog Recipe!!

The Beautiful Purple Star

Tags: , ,

I love the act of Lens Making and am having a great time creating one lens at a time to Giant Squidoo 100-dom!!

So the Nurses Week Commemoration
won a purple star.

There is a lesson here because this lens is simple, without very much hoopla but I couldn’t resist putting a link for a book I wrote honoring the nursing profession.

This next lens I wrote is simpler still–no links to buy or sell anything, no videos, nothing to suggest self-promotion.

Why? because the topic and lens title is “Humility.”

This lens is third in a series covering my (ongoing) recovery from alcoholism.

And it is a study in Humility.

What does Humility mean to you?

Go on over and leave a comment about it!!
